Ruera AB

Ruera AB is a washed Kenyan filter coffee with the kind of bright, structured profile that makes the category easy to understand: red currant, cranberry-like acidity and black tea, rounded by syrupy sweetness and a light floral edge.

The coffee comes from producing members of Ruera Factory in Kiambu, just outside Ruiru in central Kenya. Grown at 1,740 metres on red volcanic soils, the lot brings together Batian, Ruiru 11, SL28 and SL34 — varieties often associated with clarity, fruit intensity and firm cup structure.

After selective hand-picking, the cherries are sorted, pulped and washed with close attention to fermentation before drying on raised beds. That careful handling keeps the fruit vivid while preserving the cleaner, tea-like shape of the cup. Expect a sweet, juicy Kenyan profile with red berry lift, black tea depth and concentrated sugar through the finish.
