Peña de Leon Gesha

Peña de Leon Gesha is a washed Geisha from Francisco Rivera Alarcon in Cajamarca, Peru, offering the refined, high-clarity profile that has made the variety so sought after. Delicate florals lead the cup, followed by sweet orange, ripe peach, and honey-like sweetness, all carried by a tea-like structure with a gentle cocoa finish.

Francisco has worked with coffee since childhood, continuing a family tradition at Finca Peña de Leon in the mountains of Cajamarca. Today he focuses on producing Gesha alongside Caturra and Bourbon, combining selective harvesting with careful processing to showcase the clarity and elegance that high-elevation coffees from Cajamarca can achieve.

Carefully selected cherries undergo extended fermentation before slow drying in solar dryers, preserving the Geisha's floral aromatics while developing the honeyed sweetness and tea-like clarity that define the cup. The result is a polished filter coffee where citrus, stone fruit, and honey unfold with remarkable transparency from the first sip through the finish.
