Berry Blues
Regular price $32.00Berry Blues is as much textural as it is fruit-driven. It’s a bold take on Ethiopian coffee that pushes into darker fruit tones while keeping balance in the cup. It’s complex without being heavy—layered, sweet, and full of a character that only DAK could first envision and then produce.
This lot comes from Esayas Beriso at Buku Sayisa in Ethiopia’s Guji zone. Grown at 2,300 meters, the high elevation allows cherries to mature slowly and develop striking flavor clarity. Esayas has built a reputation for expressive coffees, and this release is no exception.
Processing is anaerobic natural, where fermentation takes place in sealed tanks before the coffee is dried on raised beds. The method intensifies fruit flavors, adds roundness to the body, and contributes subtle savory undertones that give the profile extra depth.
In the cup, expect layers of blueberry and concord grape, supported by a buttery texture and a lively, lactic edge. A faint savory note runs underneath, bringing balance to the fruit and leaving a memorable finish.
