RecolectoresRegular price $23.00
A feel-good coffee that's juicy, fruit-forward and has a lingering honey-like finish.
Recolectores is a very different lot to what we usually see because it celebrates the importance and value of the largely unappreciated players in the coffee supply chain, coffee pickers.
In Colombia the labour of a coffee picker is dangerous and intensive and they are paid wages that do not justify the work involved. In Colombia, coffee picking is becoming scarce with many pickers leaving this work for better alternatives.
Recolectores is an initiative where training is given to a selected group of pickers willing to participate in the project and the buyers agree to pay a premium for the coffees to cover the additional costs involved in ensuring the pickers receive a better salary.
As for the taste of the coffee you can expect the better cherry selection to give us an extremely clean cup. That juicy, tropical/citrus note that's so indicative of the Nariño region shows as tangerine and dried mango with a long, panela sweetness lasting well after you've finished the cup.
