El ParaisoRegular price $22.00
Sweet and juicy with notes of yellow peach, panela and crisp red apple.
Here we welcome a new roaster to our line up with the coffee that made it happen - the 100% Caturra lot grown by José Ignacio Gomez on his farm, El Paraiso.
Finca El Paraiso is located in Buesaco, Nariño and if you've read anything we've written about this region before you know we love Nariño for its juicy acidity and jammy sweetness.
José is a very cool guy too. He comes from a coffee producing family so he grew up surrounded by coffee and in 2002 he decided to purchase his own farm. He began with more traditional varieties (like this Caturra) and then pushed himself to experiment with new, more challenging trees. Later, along with some other quality-focused producers in the region, he founded the Cooperativa de Cafés Especiales de Nariño - a Cooperative dedicated to helping its members find a market for their speciality coffee.
Prolog have given us a clean and vibrant expression of José's Caturra and we couldn't be happier about it. Expect peach-nectar like fruit, deep panela sweetness and the malic acidity of a crisp pear.
