Gakuyuini AARegular price $25.00
Kenyan coffee is all its glory. Notes of raspberry, blackcurrant and brown sugar.
Here we welcome a new roaster to the Black Fox extended family; Onibus.
Onibus hail from Tokyo, Japan and we're not alone in rating them as one of the best roasters in Asia.
This is one of our first Kenyan drops for the season. Kenyan coffees are loud and unique. Think super sweet and busting with juicy acidity.
Gakuyu-ini is a washing station (named 'factories' in Kenya) located in the Kirinyaga region of Kenya. It's owned and operated by the Thirikwa Farmers Cooperative. The Gakuyu-ini factory processes cherry for 1,600 members who cultivate around 250 coffee trees on half-acre plots in the fertile foothills of Mount Kenya.
The 'AA' in the title refers to screen size. This means the coffee is run through different sized screens to sort out and separate different sizes. AA is the largest bean size.
Expect a big, juicy, blackcurrant-laden cup of coffee. Red fruit notes with be obvious and the sweetness should linger. A great coffee to introduce this new roaster to our menu.
